China and Uzbekistan concluded the bilateral market access negotiations for Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization

On November 28, the third round of bilateral market access negotiations for Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO between China and Uzbekistan was held in Beijing. The meeting was co-chaired by Li Fei, Vice Minister of Commerce of China, and Urunov, Chief Negotiator for WTO accession of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, both sides concluded negotiations on tariff concessions for all products in the goods trade sector. So far, they reached consensus on all content of the bilateral market access negotiations for Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO in both goods trade and service trade sectors, and agreed to conclude the negotiations.

Uzbekistan applied to join the WTO in December 1994. An accession working group was established at that time, consisting of 47 WTO members including China, the United States, the European Union, and Russia. Uzbekistan is intensively conducting bilateral negotiations with members and has concluded bilateral negotiations with 22 members.
