On September 13th, the closing ceremony of the Ministerial Workshop on WTO Investment Facilitation was held at the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO). Vice Minister of Commerce Li Fei attended and addressed the ceremony.

Li Fei said that China is actively developing new institutions for a higher-standard open economy and firmly upholds the multilateral trading system with WTO at its core. China initiated and promoted the conclusion of the Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement (IFDA) at the WTO, aiming to support countries especially developing countries in attracting investment and achieving sustainable development. The goal of the workshop is to promote a better understanding of the content and significance of the agreement and to facilitate its implementation.

On behalf of the participants, Mr. Ahmad, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan, highly appreciated the positive results of the workshop and said that he would continue his efforts to promote the entry into force of the agreement as soon as possible and to leverage it to promote development.
